Savannah-Chatham County Public School System x SCADpro Collaboration
I had the incredible opportunity to lead the team that developed the winning refreshed brand concept for this public school district in my Business of Graphic Design class at SCAD. It wasn’t just about a new logo; it was about unifying 50+ schools and 30,000+ students under one visual roof. I personally spearheaded the ADA-compliant color system, making sure our digital and print palettes were inclusive and precise, and organized the entire final asset library to ensure the client had everything they needed for a smooth handoff.Rooted in legacy and historical integrity, the new logo concept honors the district’s heritage while introducing a refined, contemporary design. The classic oak tree iconography is reimagined to reflect the building blocks of education embedded within the district's acronym. Eight dots within the mark represent the eight municipalities of Chatham County, Georgia, symbolizing the diverse communities united by a shared commitment to learning. The patterns are made up of a continuous motif of circles and gracefully curving lines reminiscent of the new logo. The resulting effect resembles the movement of water and the Savannah marshlands. This pattern is used to support the visual design system and to add an interesting, adaptable, and consistent way to depict the brand alongside the logo.
